Hopefully we are a growing community of people helping people through better living. Our goal is to teach, inspire and lead people of all social and economic environments to better healthy living and fulfilling lives through the idea of reaching out and helping our neighbors. Lofty goals I know but it all starts one seed at a time.
I want to empower communities to help themselves through food initiatives, healthcare, and healthy activities. Hands on and raising money to help them by providing training, helping with supplies and equipment in the following areas: Fitness, Healthy Eating, And Medical Care (Community Gardening, Food Co-op, Training members of the community as PAs, Nutritionalists, Fitness Coaches)
From my experience it is important for those people needing help to want to be helped and want to work for it. Otherwise once the organizations leave the community they are trying to help, the community members will revert back to what they know. If people can get a sense of hope and accomplishment by helping themselves and their neighbors they will become an extension of whatever organization is trying to offer assistance. Which as you know makes a much more powerful impact on the community. Otherwise it is looked upon as outsiders that they don’t identify with and this can be mistaken for people who are doing better than them judging them, this can cause the community to work against the effort instead of for it. I understand a lot of this from personal experience in my previous life and trying to help others get out of their own personal problems
